Phaeostachys spinifera[2][3][4] är en mossdjursart som först beskrevs av Johnston 1847. Enligt Catalogue of Life[5][6] ingår Phaeostachys spinifera i släktet Phaeostachys och familjen Escharinidae,[5][6] men enligt Dyntaxa[7] är tillhörigheten istället släktet Phaeostachys och familjen Schizoporellidae.[7] Arten är reproducerande i Sverige.[7] Inga underarter finns listade i Catalogue of Life.[5]
