Subway Riders (also known as Os Viajantes da Noite) is a 1981 American No Wave mock-thriller film directed by Amos Poe.

It stars Robbie Coltrane, Susan Tyrrell, Charlene Kaleina, Cookie Mueller, and John Lurie.[3][4] Screen appearances are also made by Lydia Lunch and Lance Loud. 35mm color cinematography shot by Johanna Heer. The musical soundtrack includes Robert Fripp, Ivan Kral and The Lounge Lizards.

Plot

A psychotic saxophone player (played both by Amos Poe and John Lurie) lures victims to deserted spots in New York City with his no wave music and then shoots them with a gun.[5] Poe plays most of the lead role of Anthony as a creepy writer-saxophonist, who's currently working on a screenplay about a street musician who guns down pedestrians. Anthony meets various people and incorporates versions of them into his disjointed screenplay, including sexy neighbor Penelope Trasher (played by Cookie Mueller), who's being driven nuts by Anthony's late-night sax music. There's also a stranger named Claire (played by Charlene Kaleina), who's forced into giving Anthony a ride when he suddenly jumps into her car. Susan Tyrell plays Anthony's heroin-addict rich wife Eleanor.
