San Juan Tepezontes

13°37′N 89°1′W / 13.617°N 89.017°W / 13.617; -89.017San Juan Tepezontes is a municipality in the La Paz department of El Salvador. Its name is a Hispanicization of a Nawat term meaning "many hills."[2] It was incorporated in 1945.[2] Its population as of 2004 was 3,269.[3]
The town was severely damaged by earthquakes in 1857[2] and twice again in January 2001 and in February 2001.
