Las Pilas is a census-designated place (CDP) in Webb County, Texas, United States. This was a new CDP formed from parts of the Ranchitos Las Lomas CDP prior to the 2010 census, with a population of 28.[2]

Geography

Las Pilas is located at 27°40′53″N 99°11′0″W / 27.68139°N 99.18333°W / 27.68139; -99.18333 (27.681463, -99.183234). The CDP has a total area of 0.8 square miles (2.1 km2), all land.[3]

Las Pilas first appeared as a census designated place in the 2010 U.S. Census,[15] one of seven CDPs (Colorado Acres, Hillside Acres, Las Haciendas, Las Pilas, Los Veteranos I, Pueblo East, and Valle Verde) were formed out the Ranchitos Las Lomas CDP.[16]

Education

Residents are in the United Independent School District.[17] Zoned schools include: Dr. Henry Cuellar Elementary School,[18] Antonio Gonzalez Middle School,[19] and United South High School.[20]

The designated community college for Webb County is Laredo Community College.[21]
