The 9th Strategic Reserve Corps (Ukrainian: 9 армійський корпус; 9 АК) is an active formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, formed for the 2023 Ukrainian counteroffensive.[1]

History

The first public mention of the 9th Corps was in April 2023, after a series of classified US Department of Defense papers were leaked.[2]

Units of the corps made up much of the first wave of the 2023 summer counteroffensive.[3]

Structure

As of 2023 the corps' structure is as follows:[4]

  • IX Army Corps, Lutsk, Volyn Oblast
    • 81st Corps HQ and HQ Battalion
    • 3rd Assault Infantry Brigade (Mech)
    • 47th Mechanized Infantry Brigade
    • 58th Motorized Infantry Brigade
    • 67th Mechanized Infantry Brigade
    • 4th Tank Brigade
    • 47th Field Artillery Brigade
    • 150th Reconnaissance Battalion
    • 93rd Combat Engineer Battalion
    • 228th Logistics Battalion (Sustainment)
    • 474th Separate Guard and Service Battalion. Involved in fire support, defense activities and assistance to units in the combat zone.[5]
    • 747th Maintenance Battalion
    • MP Battalion
    • 180th Corps Training Battalion (Basic Training)
